  70. Versamap version 2.03 (shareware)                File: README.TXT

  72. 1.   Versamap 2.03 is a Windows 3.1 program.  It can also be
  73.      installed and run under Windows 95/98/NT(4.0).  If you find
  74.      Versamap unsatisfactory, the program includes an uninstall
  75.      option that allows you to remove Versamap from your hard
  76.      drive.

  78.      To encourage registration, this shareware version has 1
  79.      limitation not found in the registered version.  In the
  80.      shareware version, maps can only be annotated with fixed pitch
  81.      fonts.  The registered version allows users to add text to
  82.      maps in both proportional (such as Arial or Times New Roman)
  83.      and fixed pitch (such as Courier New) fonts.

  86. 2.   Versamap draws outline maps on 14 map projections.  Digital
  87.      maps supplied with Versamap include boundaries for the new
  88.      countries formed from the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, for
  89.      Eritrea, for Canadian Provinces, and for Australian States.
  90.      Versamap plots maps from World Data Bank II and from the U.S.
  91.      Geological Survey's Digital Line Graph database.  Maps can be
  92.      output directly to a printer; or exported as BMP, WMF, CGM,
  93.      DXF, PIC, or ASCII files.  Text may be added to maps using any
  94.      Windows font.  New features in version 2.03 include rotated
  95.      text in 1 degree increments, high quality printer output,

  232. To install Versamap,

  234. a.   create a temporary directory (i.e. C:\JUNK) on your hard
  235.      drive;

  237. b.   unzip this ZIP file in the temporary directory;

  239. c.   click on the File menu in the Program Manager (Windows 3.1),
  240.      or click on the Start menu (Windows 95/98);

  242. d.   select the Run option;

  244. e.   in the edit box, type C:\JUNK\SETUP, where JUNK is the name of
  245.      your temporary directory;

  247. f.   follow the installation instructions displayed on the screen.
